Hardware startup Plaud, which counts over 2.5 million users across its hardware and software, has introduced a new note-taking device in an earphone form factor called the Plaud One. The device can record calls, while its charging case can capture in-person conversations and notes.

A key feature distinguishing the Plaud One from competitors like Viaim and Anker is its eSIM-enabled case. According to the company, this allows users to remotely direct Plaud's AI agents without needing a smartphone or computer. Once conversations are transcribed, the AI agent can integrate with tools such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion, and Slack to generate follow-up emails, documents, or presentations.

Key specifications and features of the Plaud One include:

• Audio and Hardware: 12mm drivers with active noise cancellation.
• Recording Range: The case can record voices clearly up to a range of five meters.
• Battery Life: Up to six hours of in-person meeting recording, three hours of call recording, and up to 25 total hours of recording when combined with the case on a single charge.
• Transcription Allowance: 300 minutes of free monthly transcription, with extra plans starting at $8.33 per month billed annually.
• Agent Credits: Buyers will receive $200 in credits for upcoming agentic tasks powered by a credit-based system.

Plaud reported in June that it achieved an annual run-rate revenue of $100 million, matching rivals such as YC-backed Pocket in a competitive market that includes Anker, Comu, Viaim, and Genspark.

Plaud CEO Nathan Xu stated that an always-ready, socially acceptable wearable interface is essential for interacting with AI from anywhere. The Plaud One is available for pre-order at $249 in limited quantities and is scheduled to ship in the fourth quarter of 2026.
