Assam will be the first stop on the Vice-President's September 6-9 tour, according to the Press Information Bureau (PIB). Radhakrishnan will arrive in Guwahati on Sunday and attend the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Geetanagar College, formerly known as Kanya Mahavidyalaya, at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra. 45 am.

The Vice-President will return to the academic circuit on September 7, when he is scheduled to attend a foundation stone-laying programme at Gauhati University and interact with students, faculty members and leading citizens at the university's Convention Centre.
The programme, scheduled for 11 am, will include a civic reception and the laying of foundation stones for several projects at the university.
The visit assumes significance as the Assam government had earlier approved a Rs 109-crore first-phase infrastructure development package for Gauhati University.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had said construction of the projects would be launched in the presence of the Vice-President during his visit to the university.
Following his engagements in Assam, Radhakrishnan will travel to Shillong on September 7, where he will attend a public reception and cultural programme at the Soso Tham Auditorium.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma is expected to attend the programme, which will feature cultural performances representing the Khasi, Garo and Jaintia communities, along with a choir performance.
The Vice-President is also scheduled to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several projects in Meghalaya, though details of the projects have not yet been disclosed.
On September 8, Radhakrishnan will travel to Imphal, where he will visit the INA Museum and War Memorial at Moirang and Sainik School Imphal before proceeding to Itanagar.
On the final day of his tour, September 9, the Vice-President will attend a special session of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly and visit the Assembly Gallery-cum-Museum.
