ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company has announced that its promoter, Prudential Corporation Holdings, plans to divest up to 2% of the company’s total issued and paid-up equity share capital through open-market transactions on the stock exchanges.In an exchange filing, ICICI Prudential AMC said Prudential Corporation intends to sell the shares to comply with the minimum public shareholding requirements applicable to the company.The promoter plans to sell up to 9,885,169 equity shares, equivalent to 2% of the company’s total issued and paid-up equity share capital. The proposed sale is scheduled to begin on August 27, 2026, and may be executed in a single or multiple tranches.As of August 21, 2026, promoters and members of the promoter group held 87.60% of the company’s total issued and paid-up equity share capital. Following the proposed sale, their aggregate holding is expected to decline to 85.60%, according to the exchange filing.ICICI Prudential AMC shares settled at ₹3,222.80 apiece on the NSE on August 26, down 2.10% from the previous close of ₹3,291.80. The stock moved in the range of ₹3,211.10-3,294.50 during the session. The company's shares have yielded a return of 22% so far in 2026, according to exchange data.ICICI Prudential AMC shares are up 49% from the IPO issue price of ₹2,165 apiece and 24% from the listing price of ₹2,600 apiece on the NSE.Notably, ICICI Prudential AMC made its stock-market debut in November 2025 after raising ₹10,602.65 crore through an IPO. Revenue from operations increased 18% YoY to ₹1,564 crore. Total income for the quarter stood at ₹1,745 crore, up 18% from ₹1,477 crore a year earlier. Sequentially, total income rose 20% from ₹1,452 crore, helped by other income of ₹181 crore, compared with a loss of ₹90 crore in the previous quarter. Meanwhile, total expenses rose 12% YoY to ₹464.4 crore.
