“This year, we will add another 50,000 candidates. I believe the CMAAA family can eventually expand to five lakh beneficiaries.

But this will be possible only when the candidates succeed,” Sarma said. Under the scheme, entrepreneurs in the general category are eligible for Rs 2 lakh, while those in the professional category are eligible for Rs 5 lakh.

The Chief Minister said beneficiaries receiving the initial Rs 25,000 had been invited alongside those receiving subsequent instalments so they could learn from entrepreneurs who had already established their businesses.

“We have invited both groups so that those receiving Rs 25,000 can take inspiration from those who have progressed,” he said. Sarma also urged banks to extend further credit support to CMAAA beneficiaries after they received the full assistance.

“After they receive Rs 2 lakh, we have asked the banks to consider involving them in schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana and PMEGP,” he said. Explaining the disbursement process, Sarma said beneficiaries initially receive Rs 75,000, followed by Rs 25,000 after completing three days of training.

After the first Rs 1 lakh is disbursed, their businesses are assessed to determine whether the funds have been properly utilised. “After the first Rs 1 lakh is disbursed, we analyse the beneficiaries and, through CM Fellows, provide them with support.

After a year, we approach the beneficiaries and assess whether the funds have been utilised properly. Once we are satisfied that the first Rs 1 lakh has been used well, we provide the next Rs 1 lakh,” Sarma said.
