Guwahati: The Assam government has officially renamed the ‘Mini Secretariat, Barak Valley’ as the ‘Assam Secretariat Barak Valley, Silchar’, following approval by the state Cabinet.
The government issued the notification on August 21, with the new name taking effect immediately.
The notification also specifies the departments that will operate from the administrative centre in Silchar.
