At least 13 people, including one child, have been killed and 75 others injured in a Ukrainian drone strike on the city of Nizhnekamsk in the Russian republic of Tatarstan, according to Russian authorities. The incident marks one of the deadliest single attacks on Russia since the start of Moscow's full-scale war in Ukraine.

Kyiv has not yet commented on the strike, which occurred more than 1,100 kilometres (680m) from the Ukrainian border. However, Ukraine's Armed Forces confirmed that Nizhnekamsk's Tanevo oil refinery was hit, and Ukrainian defence technology manufacturer FirePoint stated its FP-1 drones were used in the attack. Local sources reported that the strike lasted several hours overnight and into the morning.
